Pagina profesoarei Margareta Mioc

Poeme traduse in engleza si germana
 de doamna profesoara MARGARETA MIOC
Elevii clasei a V-a C

 Pentru mamă-
 Un surâs de dimineață

   For my mum--
  A morning smile!

 Un alb iepuraș
 Printre ghiocei...-
 Unde a dispărut?

A white rabbit
   Among snowbells--
   Where has it disappeared?

 La lumina lunii
 Liliac  înflorit-
 Pregătire de nuntă

   In the moonlight
   Liliac in blossom--
   Wedding preparations

 Printre trandafiri-
 Viață-i mai frumoasă!

  Among roses--
   Life is nicer.

 Un dar pentru sora mea
 Un coș cu viorele-

 A present for my sister
    A basket full of violets--
    A miracol.

 Cu zambile la poartă
 Vecina și ea-
 O voi îmbuna!

With hyacinthes at the gate
     My neighbour as well--
    I will calm her.

Printre lalele galbene
 Un cățel
 Hai să ne jucăm!

 Among yellow tulips
  A puppy--
  Let's play together!

 `Un bobocel în iarbă
 Deasupra: flori de măr-
 Câtă risipă!

A bud in the grass

   Above: apple blossom--
   What a waste!

 Aromă de prăjitură
 Cu mere-
 Bunica în prag

Cake flavour
     With apples--
    Grandma in the threshold.

 Orez cu lapte
 Pisica aproape-
 Unde-i linguriță?

Rice with milk
     The cat is near--
     Where is the teespoon?

 Miros de scorțișoară
 Plăcintă-i la cuptor-
 Ce păcat!

 Cinnamon smell
The pie is in the oven--
     What a pity!

La gard
 Trecătorii parcă-s mai veseli...

 At the fence
     The passers are gayer.

Who is Mihai Eminescu?

Mihai Eminescu born Mihail Eminovici; January 15, 1850 – June 15, 1889) was a Romantic poet, novelist and journalist, often regarded as the most famous and influential Romanian poet
Eminescu was an active member of the Junimea literary society and he worked as an editor for the newspaper Timpul ("The Time"), the official newspaper of the Conservative Party (1880–1918)
His poetry was first published when he was 16 and he went to Vienna to study when he was 19. The poet's Manuscripts, containing 46 volumes and approximately 14,000 pages, were offered by Titu Maiorescu as a gift to the Romanian Academy during the meeting that was held on January 25, 1902.
Notable works include Luceafărul (The Vesper/The Evening Star/The Lucifer/The Daystar), Odă în metru antic (Ode in Ancient Meter), and the five Letters (Epistles/Satires). In his poems he frequently used metaphysical, mythological and historical subjects. In general his work was influenced by the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer

Come now to the forest's spring
Running wrinkling over the stones,
To where lush and grassy furrows
Hide away in curving boughs.

Then you can run to my open arms,
Be held once more in my embrace,
I'll gently lift that veil of yours
To gaze again upon your face.

And then you can sit upon my knee,
We'll be all alone, alone there,
While the lime tree thrilled with rapture
Showers blossoms on your hair.

Your white brow with those golden curls
Will slowly draw near to be kissed,
Yielding as prey to my greedy mouth
Those sweet, red, cherry lips . . .

We'll dream only happy dreams
Echoed by wind's song in the trees,
The murmur of the lonely spring,
The caressing touch of the gentle breeze.

And drowsy with this harmony
Of a forest bowed deep as in prayer,
Lime-tree petals that hang above us
Will fall sifting higher and higher.
